Belt sander races
The 2024 Belt Sander Races are hosted by the ROCORI Robotics Team. Register your Belt Sander by clicking on the link below or print an mail the mail in registration form. Please register by July 24 so the race brackets can be finalized. Cost to Race is $15. Please pay with mail in registration or on race day by cash or check written to Hometown Pride Days.
Stock or Modified
Stock Sanders have no modifications to the sander or sanding belt but must have a front bumper and guides.
Modified Sanders must be propelled by a stock sanding belt, a front bumper, guides and run on 120 volt 20 amps max.
It is encouraged to decorate all sanders.
The Track
Two plywood tracks 7 3/4 inch wide with 2 inch sides. About 30' of race track with 20 ft of run-out and rolls of carpet pad for stopping.
The sanders are placed a the start line, both racers give a thumbs up, the tree starts red, yellow/yellow, yellow, green, racers push a button to start their sander but not before the green light (red lighting). Reaction time and total times are given. Shortest total time wins.
Double elimination event.
